Trump has increasingly warned that November's midterm elections could be compromised unless stricter safeguards are adopted.

Syrian Jewish leaders joined opposition activist Mouaz Moustafa in lobbying Congress to repeal the Caesar sanctions, despite sharp Israeli concerns over Syria’s new Islamist-led government.

While the Democrats were still listed as “pro-Israel” members of Congress on AIPAC’s political donations page, the option of donating to them was unavailable.

"It's clear that the Democratic Party has moved consequentially to the left, and that they are much more heavily influenced by people on the progressive flank," Diker told the Post.

The House voted 314 to 104 to defeat the measure, offered as an amendment to a State Department spending bill by Republican Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky.

Clayton said only that Biden had been "certified" as president, while also insisting, "I am not an election denier."
