Weekly Spotlight

The nationwide civil unrest that erupted in France this week offered the latest example of a recurring global trend monitored by the ARC in recent months.

As anti-government rioters swept through French streets, clashing with police and vandalizing buildings, including a synagogue, antisemitic conspiracy narratives quickly took hold online, blaming the crisis on Jews and Israel.

Over a two-day period, the ARC documented 1,384 such posts from 816 unique accounts.

The same phenomenon was tracked by the ARC earlier this year following the Ceuta border breach, the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, and the thwarted hijacking of an Israel-bound FlyDubai flight.

The ARC also exposed this week a new network of fake "rabbi" personas spreading antisemitic tropes across Instagram, TikTok, X, and Telegram.

Weekly Summary

The ARC recorded 130 antisemitic incidents worldwide. The Far-Right category was the largest for this first time in recent weeks, largely attributable to clusters of Nazi swastika graffiti incidents in Germany and the United States.

43% of all tallied incidents were acts of aggression, nearly double the proportion of the previous two weeks. Among these were the stabbing of a Jewish man in Manhattan and a physical assault on three Jewish women in London, including one who was pushing a stroller at the time.
