Bursts of gunfire lasting for two hours were heard in the Iranian city of Zahedan from a shooting that left at least six wounded, Iran International reported early Friday morning.
According to a report from HAALVSH, the shooting, which appeared to be targeting occupants of a car, wounded one armed person and three military personnel.
Two female pedestrians were also shot and injured.
The current status of the injuries and the identities of those involved are unknown.
Several ambulances were dispatched to the area, and checkpoints were established on nearby streets, according to the report.

Images and videos circulating on social media appear to show armed individuals opening fire with military and security forces present.
At the same time, large numbers of security personnel, plainclothes officers, and forces belonging to various agencies were deployed within the city, according to Iran International.
The entrances and exits to the city have also reportedly been temporarily closed.
